Bandos is a beautiful coral island with a total land area of 178,900
square metres, covered with lush tropical vegetation, numerous palm
trees, surrounded by a wide sandy beach and the crystal clear waters
of an azure lagoon. The island owns one of the best house reefs,
just 40 - 60 metres away from the beach. Bandos is located in North
Malé’ Atoll, about 7 kilometres from Malé International
Airport and the capital Malé’.
Transfer between the
airport and the resort takes only 20 minutes by speedboat and
45 minutes by dhoni (a local mechanised boat). Opened on 10 December
1972 as the second tourist resort in the Maldives, Bandos has
since grown to become one of the most popular and hospitable resorts
in the country. On Bandos,
there is no time to get bored. The natural splendour is complemented
by the modern amenities of the resort, which ensure that your
stay is both comfortable and memorable.

A total of 225 guest rooms
of three different categories are available for you on the islands,
which in the 28 years of its existence have come to be known as
the island of hospitality for its friendly and efficient service.
All rooms (suites, junior suites and standard rooms) have tiled
floors and are air-conditioned with the option to use the ceiling
fans; or, go more nature-loving, open the windows and breathe in
the fresh evening air as you soundly sleep. All rooms have hot/cold
shower bath (with bath tub on the suites and junior suites), a minibar,
tea/coffee facilities, cosmetic mirror, hair dryer, sofa/sitting,
terrace, writing desk, IDD telephone, television, and bidet (on
suites and junior suites).
Standard room facilities a 175 Standard Rooms, Double Bed, Mini
Bar, International Direct Dial Telephone, Air-condition, Beach Bed
with Beach Chair, Bathroom with Shower, Hot & Cold Water and
Hair Dryer.
Suites and Junior suites boast a larger sitting area, tea/coffee
making facilities, Sofa sitting, and writing desk and include bathtub,
bidet and hair dryer in the bathrooms. A television is also provided
in suites.

Restaurant |

Gallery Restaurant - The main
restaurant of Bandos Island Resort is open for breakfast, lunch
and dinner and specialises in catering for guests whose holiday
package includes meals - yet is open to all the guests. Package
holidaymakers, however, are not restricted to one restaurant, but
are welcome to eat either at the Coffee shop or the Harbour Grill
with a discount voucher issued by the restaurant.
Sea Breeze Coffee Shop - The Coffee Shop is open 24 hours and offers
a varied A La Carte Menu, ranging from Spaghetti Bolognaise to authentic
Indian Curry. True to its name it provides a refreshing moment after
a long sunbath. Seating is available inside, or outside under our
huge Banyan Tree.
Sand Bar - Right at the water’s
edge is our Sand Bar, open from 07.30 until the last satisfied customer
leaves. Enjoy the exotic atmosphere barefoot on the sand floor sipping
a tropical drink from our wide selection. Our live band invites
you to listen or dance the night away, try Karaoke or dance to the
hot rhythms played by our DJ. Paradise
Bar - When you visit the Paradise Club for a therapeutic
massage, tennis, a vigorous workout or a swim in the pool, you can
take advantage of the thirst quenching drinks and the light fare
menu the Paradise Bar offers. Sundowners
Beach Bar -Located on the east side of the island, close
to our Dive School, is our Sunset Bar, open daily between 0730 -
1930hrs. A favourite among divers for a quick snack and a cool drink
after a dive. A romantic place for a drink during sunset.

Bandos also has the widest range of sports facilities available
anywhere in the country. Be it: beach volleyball, badminton, squash,
aerobics, tennis, board games, table tennis, swimming pool, sauna,
or snooker/billiards. Try scuba diving, windsurfing, night diving,
parasailing, snorkelingday/night, water-skiing, banana boat riding,
canoeing, catamaran sailing, surfing. Or go island hopping, big
game fishing, night fishing, or excursions to Male'.
