Maldives is a nation of more than a thousand coral islands scattered across the middle of the Indian Ocean like little gems. Kandooma Tourist Resort is situated in the heart of the Maldives in South Mal? Atoll. This tropical hideaway is amongst the most favoured islands for those visiting Maldives to enjoy the natural beauty of the tropics. Kandooma has all the modern facilities and the management ensures that the holidays atmosphere lasts forever, hence the slogan "Full of Life". It takes 35 minutes by speedboat to reach Kandooma.
Accommodation
The has a total of 124 rooms in three different categories - standard rooms, beach superiors and bungalows. The standard rooms are equipped with shower (cold water), ventilator, and terrace. The superior rooms are located in the garden, 20 m from the beach, are equipped with air- conditioning, shower (cold water), and terrace.
Resort Facilities
RESTAURANT: Main restaurant is spacious and located near the reception area. Intercontinental and local cuisine are served in the restaurant during meal times only. Coffee Shop : Located near the beach adjacent to the Beach Bar, Kandooma Coffee Shop serves hot and cold beverages (Opening hours from 09:00am.- 11:00pm). Restaurant Bar : Situated near the main restaurant and serves quality wine and other beverages. Beach Bar : Located conveniently near the beach. An atmosphere for total relaxation.The Kandooma Special Cocktail is a hot favorite. Beach bar open from early morning till last orders. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: Water sports and recreational facilities include tennis, football, table tennis, darts, surfing, catamaran, water ski, banana boat, diving and snorkeling. Aside from the reception which iss multi-purpose, there is also a souvenir shop and a discotheque. Fishing : Night Fishing and Sunrise Fishing. Fishing trips can be organised upon request. Evening Entertainment : Boduberu, a Maldivian style drum based music, much enjoyed by visitors. The show is organised and performed by the staff on twice weekly basis. Disco evenings are also organised wice a week. Occasional live bands also visit the island, who plays everything from rock?n?roll to the techno beats. Barbecue Evenings and Crab Racing events are also organised. DIVING: If you are looking for a laid back and easy going island at affordable prices and with excellent diving opportunities you will not be disappointed in Kandooma. No other island has quite so many excellent dive sites within close quarters as does Kandooma - this alone makes the island more than a second thought if you are an enthusiastic scuba diver.
